Information to applicants

Welcome to the ESGO Exam that will be held on September 28, 2023, at 9:00 AM, at ESGO Congress 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

ESGO Members from Low- and Lower-middle-income countries         300 EUR

 Application process:

Please note that all applications are personal. To proceed with your application, please first create an account, if you do not have one already. Please make sure that you provide a valid e-mail address, as all information regarding the exam will be sent to this address. Please note that the following documents will be required during the application process: 

  • Certificate of medical degree in ENGLISH (in pdf)
  • Short CV (in pdf)
  • Scan of passport or ID-card
  • To obtain fee for Trainees: Confirmation letter from a Training Center (in pdf)

All applications will be reviewed by ESGO Exam Committee within 7 days after the submission.

Methods of payment:

The application fee must be paid in advance upon confirmation of application. Should the payment not be received within 10 working days, your seat may be offered to another candidate on the waiting list. 

Payment of fees should be done online via this registration system. This can be done using most major credit or debit cards.

There are only two exceptions to this rule:

  • If you live in a country outside Europe where credit cards may not work (a few countries in Middle East and Africa), then you can also write an email to support@orzone.com and state your name and which exam you are applying for.
  • If your hospital (or other external party) wishes to pay for you or a group of colleagues via invoice and bank transfer then have them contact support@orzone.com and include information for which names they wish to pay for and address/email for invoice.
A small handling fee will be added to manually processed payments.

Terms and Conditions

Why might my application be rejected?

Common reasons for applications being rejected are:

  • Supporting documents are not in English
  • Attachments are not complete

By submitting this application I acknowledge and agree that:

  • I am obliged to pay the full application fee.
  • I understand that if my seat is transferred to another date, that I am responsible for paying the difference in fee if there is an increase.
  • I understand that if I do not receive a visa in time to sit the examination I am not entitled to a refund or a seat transfer.
  • I understand that the Exam may be cancelled due to unforeseen organizational difficulties or if the Exam does not meet the minimum participation. A full refund will be given in such a case.
  • I understand that I am providing personal data in order to prepare, deliver and post-process the exam. The data may also be used for long term storage of exam results and/or to contact the candidate with offers related to fellowships and different educational programmes. Without this data the exam can not be processed. You will need to comply with the GDPR and privacy policy which you will be prompted to at a later stage in the process.

Cancellation and refund policy:

Any cancellation must be submitted to the exam secretariat (exam@esgo.org) in writing.

  • Before August 31, 2023                        50 % refund  
  • Starting September 1, 2023                  no refund

 You can however receive 50% discount for the next ESGO Exam, which will only be offered again in 2025 though.

No show, no refund.
